Terms of Service

Welcome to SpeakVid (speakvid.com), an AI-powered video translation, transcription, dubbing and subtitling platform ("the Service"), operated by the SpeakVid team. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to use the Service.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering. One person may maintain one account.

2. The Service

SpeakVid lets you upload videos or provide video links, and process them with AI engines to produce transcripts, translations, subtitles, dubbing and related outputs. The Service relies on third-party cloud AI providers; output quality, availability and processing speed may vary.

3. Credits and Subscriptions

• Credits are the unit of usage. Different tasks consume different amounts of credits, as shown on the pricing page and in the workspace before you submit a task.
• Free credits granted at signup (e.g. 20 credits) are for evaluation purposes and cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Subscriptions (Pro/Team, monthly or annual) renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
• Credit packs are one-time purchases. Purchased credits are valid for 1 year from purchase unless stated otherwise.
• All prices are shown before checkout. Payments for international customers are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record (card payments; VAT/GST handled at checkout). Customers in China can pay by WeChat Pay or Alipay.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Adult, pornographic, sexually explicit or otherwise NSFW content is strictly prohibited. Do not upload, process, generate or distribute any sexual, nude or adult material. SpeakVid is not an adult-content service and such content may not be processed through it;
• Process any content that sexualizes or exploits minors in any way. We report such content to the relevant authorities;
• Process non-consensual intimate imagery, or content depicting sexual violence;
• Process content that promotes terrorism, extreme violence, self-harm or hatred against any person or group;
• Process content that violates laws, or infringes copyrights, privacy, or other rights of any person;
• Clone, imitate or impersonate the voice of any real person (whether a celebrity, public figure or private individual) without that person's explicit authorization;
• Upload malware, or attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
• Resell, redistribute or sublicense the Service or automated access to it without our written consent;
• Misrepresent that AI-generated output was produced by a human, where such misrepresentation is unlawful or deceptive.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for how you use the outputs. You must have the rights to any content you upload or link.

We may use automated filters and manual review to detect prohibited content, and we may refuse to process, remove or delete any content that breaches this section and suspend or terminate the accounts responsible.

5.1 Voice Cloning

When the voice cloning feature becomes available, it is intended solely for cloning a user's own voice so that the user's videos can be dubbed into other languages. By submitting a voice sample, you represent and warrant that the sample is your own voice, or that you have obtained the written authorization of the voice's owner. Cloning any third party's voice without authorization is a violation of these Terms. We may ask you to provide proof of authorization, and we may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that breach this clause. We do not offer any library of celebrity or third-party voices.

6. Your Content and Our License to Process It

You retain all rights to the content you upload. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process and transmit your content solely to provide the Service to you (including sending it to third-party AI engines). We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.

7. AI Output Disclaimer

Outputs are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies or omissions. They are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. You should review outputs before publishing or relying on them, and you are responsible for the final result.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, logos, text and software are owned by SpeakVid or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse engineer them except as permitted by law.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (payment processors such as Creem and Paddle, cloud AI engines, cloud storage and hosting). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. We are not responsible for acts or omissions of third parties.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakVid shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Upon termination, unused credits are forfeited except where a refund applies under our Refund Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall first be addressed through our support channels.
