This Privacy Policy explains how SpeakVid ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use speakvid.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: username, email address (if provided) and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Content you process: videos, audio files and text that you upload or link to, and the outputs (transcripts, subtitles, dubbing) we generate for you. This content is processed only to provide the Service to you.
- Payment information: handled entirely by our payment providers Creem and Paddle (or the payment method offered at checkout). We do not see or store your card numbers.
- Usage data: task history, credit balance and technical logs (IP address, browser type) used for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain and improve the Service;
- To process your tasks and deliver outputs;
- To manage your account, credits, subscriptions and orders;
- To communicate with you about the Service (receipts, notices, support);
- To prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you logged in and remember site preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings; doing so may log you out.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Service:
- Payment providers (e.g. Creem, Paddle) to process payments and handle billing, tax and refunds;
- Cloud AI providers (speech recognition, translation, text-to-speech engines) to process the tasks you submit;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data and serve the website.
These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active.
- Uploaded files and outputs are kept long enough to deliver your tasks and let you download results (typically up to 30 days after a task), then deleted automatically.
- Payment and order records are kept as required by tax and accounting laws.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and review our safeguards regularly.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: you can view and update your account information in your account page.
- Export: you can download your task outputs from the Service.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.
- Where data protection law gives you additional rights (access, portability, erasure, restriction, objection), you may exercise them by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 18 (or the applicable age of majority). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries where our providers operate. When we transfer data across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
